DHS 2016 Senior, Chase Aikey!
Chase had a cool, chill session. We went around Kincaid and explored the old, out of use buildings, and some secluded spots on the trails. Best of all, he brought his dog along to hang out with us! It’s always fun when seniors bring their pets on sessions, because they can bring out such a different part of their personality. In this case, it looks like Chase and his buddy keep it easy-going.
Sierra Kruse is a senior at East High School this year. Sierra is a bit of a homebody, but loves to go shooting. She is also a pretty big hockey fan and the Aces are one of her favorite team. She loves being outside. Her favorite artist is Elvis Presley and she enjoys watching anything Elvis.
She loves being silly and making people laugh. She is very dedicated and works hard. She wants to go to UAA after high school for criminology and hopes to be a trooper one day.
We had a blast with East High School senior Erin Bachman! For Erin’s senior session, we took a trip down the Knik Arm to Beluga Point. The Beluga Point area is such a cool place for senior photos, because there’s a huge variety in scenery in just one location. All you have to do is turn the other way and your photos look like they’re in a whole now place!
Erin found all the fun nooks to pose in, etching out space against the brick buildings and among the rock formations. She simply radiated in the golden hues of the late summer sun!
What a time we had with sweet-hearted Bartlett High School senior and cheerleader Caiti Hammett! We took Caiti all around Anchorage for her senior session, finding perfect places everywhere from downtown alleys to the shore of the Cook Inlet. The lightly windblown day gave Caiti a perfectly natural look in all her photos, expertly tossing her hair from her eyes in the way that only nature can. Caiti thoughtfully chose her outfits – a sparkled dress, her cheerleading outfit, and a floral piece with a cozy cardigan. We absolutely love her style — in fact we might be slightly obsessed with her rust colored cardigan.
Veronika and Mikayla are sisters who look so much a like you might think they’re twins,…. okay they’re actually identical twins. I’ve taken twin senior pictures before, and always try to find what makes each twin unique. Mikayla and Veronika are super close and have the same kind of bond I love having with my own sister. These girls love fashion and definitely enjoy modeling. For our multiple shoots together we touched on many of the things that each of them love. Our first shoot was a vintage throwback to the 40s with cute high-waisted shorts and hair styled into victory rolls, our second shoot were modern fashion senior photos downtown, and our last shoot were sweet summertime beach portraits.
I loved being homeschooled myself (quickly checks for misspellings in this blog post), and actually went to the same school these girls are attending, Family Partnership Charter School. These sisters are going to take over the world, I can’t wait to read about them in some magazine in the future!
I was so excited to get the chance to photograph Siri this year after photographing her brother, Simon, last year. Siri was one of our Senior Model’s this year and we had such a blast on both of her sessions. During her first session, Siri was able to show more of her playful side with her love of hikes and playing in the rain since there was a little drizzle during that summer day in McHugh Creek. Plus the lilac trees were in full bloom and the coloring from the flowers just made her hazel eyes pop!
Because Siri was a Senior Model, we were able to get a little more creative during her second session this summer. We had a blast on the beach photographing her in a black ballgown that contrasted so well against the turquoise piano. She looked absolutely gorgeous! Siri and her mom were such troopers in the weather that day as well, there was a thunder storm a few miles away. We were so happy to incorporate Siri’s passion for the piano into her senior session.
I had so much photographing the Siri and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her!
